There have been many beauty trends of 2016 such as colour contouring and the ‘hungover makeup look’, but there’s just something about noticing a celebrity’s beauty style and having an urge to re-create it. Here’s a few beautifully inspiring celebrity make-up looks of 2016 so far.
Khloe Kardashian never fails to contour like a goddess, with golden shimmering tones sitting above her cheek bones, but this snap in particular really caught my eye. Posted on the 12th April, this makeup look of Khloe’s is truly flawless. A gorgeous sheen across her cheeks paired with glossed peach lips and a champagne eyeshadow, Khloe highlights her brow bones with an eye-catching swipe of a glimmering cream colour to emphasise an awake, dewy image. This beauty style proves that sometimes less is more, as nudes take centre stage for a summery look this year.
It seems that the minimal makeup, bold lip combo hasn’t died out just yet as Gigi Hadid proved at the ‘Power of Colours – MAYBELLINE’ makeup runway show on the 18th January. A strong matte coral-red lip colour combined with untouched, thick eyebrows and white eyeliner, this look is finished with glitter around the inner corners of the eyes to create a sense of serenity that Gigi pulls off so well.
Heavy black eyeshadow seemed to be a thing of the past not that long ago, but Zendaya brought it back recently with her stunning Instagram photo from the end of March. Teamed with seemingly minimal mascara, Zendaya brushed charcoal-black over her eyelids and underneath her lower lash line to create a bold, striking look. Instead of painting a dark colour onto the lips, Zendaya opted for a gorgeous nude-pink gloss and some heavy contour starting from the high tops of her cheek bones. Completed with a spot of highlight on the tip of her nose and typically along her brow bone, the actress looks seamlessly elegant.
We are all aware that Jennifer Lopez is the queen of beauty and there’s always one look she masters and it’s her signature gold eye paired with a dark cherry lip. In this image, taken at the Golden Globes 2016 after party, Mary Phillips, J-Lo’s makeup artist has dusted a shimmering champagne colour over the sockets of her eyes and a nude liner across her waterline. Doubled with her dark rouge glossed lips, which have been artistically ombre’d with a lighter cherry-colour in the middle of her bottom lip, Jennifer has a dark pink blush over the apples of her cheeks to create a healthy glow.
