If there is one thing us Semple girls take seriously it’s our nails. But while us busy fashion bees are bashing out blog posts day after day, it’s our nails that bare the brunt. So imagine our joy when ‘Beauts Beauty’ came to visit the office. Kiss goodbye to chipped pinkies and say hello to some seriously beaut nails…
Set up and run by Steph Marks, ‘Beauts’ is a mobile and home beauty service offering manicures, lash extensions, brow up keep and massage. Less than a year old ‘Beauts’ is still a baby, but Steph is dreaming big and her passion for keeping us all gorgeous is evident the second you meet her. Her smile is infectious as she puts you at ease and the girly chat always flows when ‘Beauts’ is in the building.
Amazing #ombré nails
Having worked in a hair salon while still at school Steph has always found herself most at home in a salon environment, but young and unsure of which path to take Steph put down her brushes and headed to university to study fashion. After graduation Steph found herself in many envious fashion related roles but something was always missing. So growing restless and eager for a new challenge, Steph plucked up the courage, or in her words “grew a pair”, and quit her job to go after her dream.
The only time a women is helpless is while her nails are drying. Other than that watch out.
So in January of 2014 ‘Beauts’ was born and she hasn’t stopped smiling since. Working a mobile service as well as offering a beauty room from her own home, and manicures in her local salon on Tuesdays, Steph now spends her days preening the talons of ladies who too share her love of all things polished.
Having a fab time getting pampered by @BeautsBeaut
Quitting the 9 to 5 in favour of going self employed was not a decision Steph took lightly and one that took a lot of confidence on her part and a great deal of support from those around her. But it was a move that was more than worth it. “I like people and having every day different. This is what I’m happiest doing” – Steph.
The dream for Steph is to one day have her own salon, but for now ‘Beauts’ is hell bent on getting her name out there and brightening all our lives with a touch of glitter, a slash of fuchsia or a shark for those of you who like to take a bite out of life.
